Clean Year

In honor of World Temperance Day (which I just found out about today), I am posting this short thought. I will have a longer thought about this later.

  • Also, I want to make “Clean Year” a thing(that would be cool)
  • I could partner with the people who sponsor Dry January, the people behind World Temperance Day, and those who sell non-alcohol spirits like Seedlip.

In the process doing a clean year: taking a year off of drinking. At the beginning I had an idea that without the fog of alcohol and drugs (even though I don’t do any drugs) who knows what untold heights of potential I could reach; maybe I could find the cure for cancer. However, ten months in the antidote still eludes me. There has been no surge of brilliance, no Einsteinian levels of revelations so to speak. Now I’m starting to think maybe I did a clean year too late. Perhaps I’ve already burnt those brain cells and now they’re never coming back. Perhaps I’ve shackled myself to a course of dull-wittedness and now I’m relegated to living a life of mediocracy. Perhaps or perhaps not. I’m hoping for the latter.
