A post about all the good stuff on the horizon.
I decided to write a post pertaining to the good stuff. I want to do this for a few reasons; 1) My last few posts have been about darker stuff like recessions and should America going into a period of austerity. I want to counter that with some brightness. 2) I want to put out in the universe what I want and I want to attract the things I want by starting the conversation about it. I was listening to a podcast that said everyone should have a podcast or a post all the time, for the general serendipity of attracting like-minded people to your cause. And If my posts are all about dark and doom it will attract the “despair and distress crowd”. 3) I want to hone my thought process of what is good out there so I can articulate it better in a conversation.
So first goodness out there is that there are plenty of homes to buy in America (and the world). One of the positive things to come out of the pandemic is that it has untethered many workers from their desks. I use to work 9-5, Monday through Friday, and in the office every day. I would get up, exercise shower, put on a suit, and head to work. I’ve even worked a four-hour drive round trip to work at one point. Today I could not imagine spending four hours in my car to be transported to a small cubicle or office. Today I am in the office two days a week and that’s 7 minutes away. This little rant was to explain that now that I am not tethered to the desk I can conceivably find, buy, and manage a property in any part of the world. I am looking in America since I live here now but If I needed to I could work from anywhere for a few weeks to get things in order or if the property is vacant just live there for a few weeks. Properties in the midwest are still very reasonable as the appreciation of home values does not spike up as quickly as they do in the coastal cities.
Another great thing on the horizon is the process of app development. I have been developing several apps and this latest one is in the AI/ML space. It has been very slow but general technology is progressing so fast that I might not need to learn the details of how to build what I want and eventually someone will build a tool that can create the framework I need to improve my project. Right now my NLP is awful and I need to go through about 20 thousand lines of script to maybe get the results I want. But I am hoping something comes along that can make this much easier for me. At this time I can do about 50 lines a day, meaning it might take me 400 days or a year and 3 months to complete.
Another benefit of growing technology is a project by OPEN AI DALL E2 that takes any text and turns it into a realistic picture. It’s very fascinating, and Marques Browlee does an excellent video on how it works. I already have an account with OPEN AI and used the GPT-3 system once or twice, but this system is great for the future of animation. If I wanted to create a unique cartoon or story I would no longer need to hire animators and storyboard the whole thing. I’m just assuming here but you could possibly in the future think of an idea and have this system render the image for that idea and then you could repeat the process until you’ve had a short animation or you could get the rough draft and have a professional touch it up. Anyone the possibilities are endless, not just an animation.
Day 28 writing. This took about 45 minutes of time.
