Buckle up, folks!

Two years ago, I thought I was a genius:

Bought an investment property

Downgraded to living with roommates to save cash

Felt stuck in Cali for work (hello, 3-day office life)

Fast forward to now, and holy plot twist, Batman! Everything’s changed:

Work? Semi-remote. Office who?

Living situation? I could crash at my own place if finding a tenant takes forever.

Market reality? My property manager dropped a bomb: We can’t get $1,775 anymore. Try $1,600, pal.

Expenses? Skyrocketing faster than a SpaceX rocket:

Escrow? Up $1,000/year

Insurance? Another $1,000/year increase (ouch!)

So now I’m stuck playing “Would You Rather”:

A) Get a tenant at a loss
B) Live there myself for a few months

Here’s where it gets spicy: I don’t even want to live there! (Winter in that area? Hard pass.)

The Real Estate Golden Rule hits differently now: Location, location, location.

If I’d bought in San Diego or Austin, I’d be packing my bags yesterday. But here we are, contemplating life choices.

The Ego vs. Profit Smackdown:

Ego says: “Hold out for higher rent! You’re a real estate mogul!”

Logic whispers: “Take the L now, live where you want, build your dream life.”

Remember, a few hundred bucks loss beats the soul-crushing depression of living somewhere you hate.

The Big Takeaway: Sometimes, the “smart” investment on paper isn’t so smart for your actual life. Don’t let stubbornness cost you happiness.

What would you do? Drop your thoughts below! 👇

Rewritten by Claude in the styles of Shaan Puri and Sam Parr. This version is great it added emojis and a call to action.
