We need to ween ourselves off of consumerism. It probably won’t happen. We are a little too entrenched in the cycle of buying until we’re buried.
And It is going more expensive to by things we want, like homes.
Morning Brew: Virtually no new homes in the US sold for under $200,000 in November, according to a new report from the Commerce Department. Compare that to 2002, when houses priced under $200k accounted for 56% of all new home sales.
WSJ: In the first quarter of 2022, the median sale price in San Francisco was $1.875 million, up about 21% from $1.55 million in the first quarter of 2020, she said.
